Daniel Ambrus (Hungary) Graduating from IRES Daniel completed an MA at the LSE. Following his internship with the European Commission, he joined the Office of the Prime Minister in Hungary as EU advisor. Succeeding on the EU concours he joined the European Commission as political analyst in Brussels. Daniel is currently heading the political department of the Representation of European Commission in Hungary.

Ian Herbison (UK) After leaving IRES, Ian worked in Management Consulting with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the UK. Ian then moved back to Central & Eastern Europe (CEE), joining the Public Relations company MMD, with Country Manager positions in Croatia, Serbia, Romania, & Poland. Ian currently has operational responsibility for all of CEE.

Balint Molnar (Hungary) Since leaving IRES, Balint has worked in Canada as a Senior Programme Specialist for the Ottawa Jewish Community Council, as the Development Director and Senior Communications Manager for the Budapest Holocaust Memorial Centre, as well as Development Manager for the London-based Media Diversity Institute. Balint is now the Deputy Director of Freedom House Europe.

Rasa Ostrauskaite (Lithuania) After IRES, Rasa returned to working for the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry. After being posted to the Lithuanian Mission to the EU, Rasa served as a member of the EU Council’s Policy Planning and Early Warning Unit; first as Political Advisor to the EU Special Representative in Bosnia, and then as Political Advisor to the EUSR in the Southern Caucasus. Rasa is currently Senior Political Advisor to the EUSR for the crisis in Georgia.

Mihai Pătru (Romania) Following his graduation from IRES, Mihai resumed his position within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania as responsible for the bilateral relations with the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Currently, Mihai is adviser to the minister of Foreign Affairs.  Simultaneously, he continued to publish on Middle East and translate from contemporary Arabic literature.

Jan Ruzicka (Czech Republic) Following IRES, Jan returned to the Czech Republic to teach at Charles University in Prague, at the same time also serving as the chief aide for a member of the country’s Senate. Since then, Jan has been a policy fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington DC, and is currently a Marie Curie Doctoral Fellow in the Department of International Politics at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
