Postal Services in Austria
Students must bear in mind that packages from overseas are charged with a huge duty fee and handling cost if they are very heavy. The duty fee also depends on the value of the pack. If there is an insurance on the package worth 1000 USD and the pack is e.g. 10 kg the duty fee and handling cost can be about €250 altogether.

How can I find information about public transportation?
For information about Vienna City services, use Wiener Linien. They also have an app which provides information and can be used to purchase e-tickets. Depending on the time of year, various student tickets are available; check here for more details.
For the national rail service, see the ÖBB website.
Finally, you can rent transportation such as bicycles and e-scooters all across Vienna. A huge network of city-bikes is available in Vienna. Renting bikes for one hour is free, but a previous online registration with a bank card is necessary on city bikes website and it costs €1. See here. Can I use private transportation/cars?
Commuters may use their own cars, however they will need to abide by CEU’s current policy with respect to reclaiming mileage, make all claims themselves, and understand that there will be no reimbursement for any other costs such as parking fees, route passes for HU and AT, additional insurance, etc. For parking information, please see below.
Parking
The Q51 campus has only a very limited amount of parking places reserved for logistical purposes. Should you be in need of a parking space for such reasons, please contact Facilities Management beforehand. Any parking arrangements are the responsibility and costs for commuters including any parking they might wish to secure at their accommodation. Paid parking is available in the streets nearby.
Short-stay parking zones in Vienna:
• Districts 1 to 9 and 20: Monday to Friday, except public holidays, 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM, max. stay 2 hours
• Districts 10, 11, 12 and 14 to 19: Monday to Friday, except public holidays, 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM, max. stay 3 hours
• Special scheme near the Stadthalle: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM; Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM, max. stay 2 hours
• Short-term parking zones are only posted at the entrance to the respective district.
• Different short-term parking rules may apply in the shopping streets of Vienna and are posted separately in such places.
We also recommend checking 'park and ride' garages on the outskirts of the city, designed so you can easily change from your car to public transportation (such as underground, tram or bus). Parking costs only 3,60 Euro per day.
